这是一本用英文编撰的中国腕足动物化石属志，是门类古生物研究的学术参考书，也是专业性很强的学术工具书。全志涉及的化石记录，来自显生宙的古生代（寒武纪、奥陶纪、志留纪、泥盆纪、石炭纪和二叠纪）和中生代（三叠纪、侏罗纪和白垩纪）共9个纪的海相地层中，跨越地质历史约4.5亿年，涵盖了从1883年至2015年间、根据中国材料创建的757个属（含6个亚属，归于15个目、191个科及若干不确定的分类单元）。
