这本书描述了作者的人生历程：他于1950年8月4日出生在一个普通的乡村家庭，后来成为“所罗门群岛之子”。他在医学教育中获得了多项荣誉。他是所罗门群岛第一位获得大都会硕士学位的医生。他为控制所罗门群岛国内及其他地区的疟疾而工作。他当选皇家热带医学与卫生学会会士，成为领域内的国际专家，并于1992年从伦敦大学获得了博士学位，成为所罗门群岛第一位博士毕业生。他曾在多个国际专家委员会任职，并在多场会议上担任主席。他是首位荣获多项国际奖项（特别是由世界卫生组织和国际扶轮社颁发的奖项）的所罗门群岛人。他现任所罗门群岛国立大学名誉校长。
